History of Fairfield
It was on 21st February 1887 when the Fairfield Post Office opened. However, later it was moved to another location. This suburb was a part of the City of Heidelberg in 1962. It was in the same year, Alphington was declared a part of the City of Northcote. Ever since its establishment, the suburb has gone through a lot of developmental changes.
