Physio North Sydney is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist North Sydney and interestingly, Physiotherapy North Sydney. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include North Sydney Physio, North Sydney Physiotherapist and or North Sydney Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. We have found that depending on the demographics the use of the word 'in' features quite heavily, and so we'll often see Physio in North Sydney, Physiotherapist in North Sydney and Physiotherapy in North Sydney as common phrases. In the end, we do our best to be as visible and accessible for our patients in and around our local area as possible.
Physiotherapy is a profession focused on improving the body’s physical health. It includes rehabilitation, recovery from injuries, treating body pains, and promoting fitness, among others. Physiotherapy, as the name describes, is a medical treatment that helps people improve or restore physical strength, mobility, and overall functioning.
Physiotherapists are trained professionals with a thorough understanding of the human
body. They assess a person’s physical condition completely and chalk out a treatment plan that delivers the best results. Some of the treatments provided by physiotherapists include:
∙ Electrotherapy – to help muscular stimulation
∙ Heat therapy – to soothe stiff muscles and joints
∙ ROM exercises – the range of motion exercises help with recovery from injuries and surgeries
∙ Soft tissue massages – to relax the muscles and soothe inflammation
∙ Kinesio tapes – to stabilize muscles and joints during a treatment
∙ Manual therapy to alleviate stress and stiffness
A physiotherapist is experienced and capable of handling all the above treatments and more. Specialized courses for physiotherapy, usually spanning about 4 years, provide an in-depth understanding of the human body and its functioning. Anatomy, biology, and the study of movements are especially important skills for a physiotherapist.
The main goal of undergoing physiotherapy is to heal the body back to its normal state. This, in turn, leads to improved quality of life and the comfort of performing physical activities unhindered. In Australia, you do not need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist.
Though it is a common practice for physiotherapists to refer to your regular doctor. This helps them get a better understanding of your condition and develop the best treatment plan for you.
