Q&A with Chris El Karina

What made you decide to become a physiotherapist?

To be able to connect with people and make a significant impact in changing their health. Going beyond the conventional healthcare model of seeing a patient for a brief period and not addressing underlying issues.

What do you love most about your job?

Being able to impact lives through movement and exercise in an evidence-based approach that goes beyond just addressing the injury. Physio provides a medium where you can connect with people and understand their health on a deeper level.

Why should a new patient decide to choose you?

We ensure that every patient is heard and listened for. We go above and beyond with our approach and don't rest until no stone is left unturned. We understand the shortcomings in the current model of healthcare and strive to ensure that people actually are looked after when working with us.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

Getting outdoors and moving. Being able to do this with people that you enjoy spending your time with is blessing. It also helps having the greatest dog in the world to get out and move. Moving is one of our most fundamental components of being a human so we need to embrace it as much as possible.

What do you enjoy about North Rocks and the community?

It's an environment that promotes the philosophy that we preach. Its accessible to many due to its geographical location and has great spaces around us to get people outdoors and moving.

Q&A with Lael Kassem

What made you decide to become a physiotherapist?

To help serve others. I love the human body and how capable it can be. Growing up I hated being injured, and new how mentally stuff it was sitting on the sidelines. I wanted to help others manage through injuries and get back to peak performance.

What do you love most about your job?

The different people I get to meet, with different stories. I am passionate about providing the best treatment service to all, ensuring clients are fully prepared for performance and reducing the risk of injury.

Why should a new patient decide to choose you?

Provide well rounded care, specialising in Strength & Conditioning to ensure the client is not just at pre injury level, but with greater resilience and strength to ensure their reduced risk of future injuries. I have a great understanding of a lot of sports and how the body functions - gives me a better understanding of when and how injuries can occur.

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

Running - Who is keen to do a marathon with me one day? Reading - fiction mostly, something with history or growth mindset books. Sunshine - spending quality time with friends and family outdoors in the sun and beach!

What do you enjoy about North Rocks and the community?

Culture of the team is great, creates space for enjoyment, and professional development. Good people first, Good Physio's second.

Find us online

Physio North Rocks is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist North Rocks and interestingly, Physiotherapy North Rocks. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include North Rocks Physio, North Rocks Physiotherapist and or North Rocks Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. We have found that depending on the demographics the use of the word 'in' features quite heavily, and so we'll often see Physio in North Rocks, Physiotherapist in North Rocks and Physiotherapy in North Rocks as common phrases. In the end, we do our best to be as visible and accessible for our patients in and around our local area as possible.
