Find us online

Physio Toowoomba is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist Toowoomba and interestingly, Physiotherapy Toowoomba. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include Toowoomba Physio, Toowoomba Physiotherapist and or Toowoomba Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. Toowoomba profile

Also known as “The Garden City” and “T-Bar”, Toowoomba is a regional city in Queensland. It lies 125 km west of Queensland’s capital city, Brisbane. Toowoomba is Queensland’s largest inland city with a total land area of 498.1km2 and is home to 136,861 residents according to the 2018 estimates of the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

History of Toowoomba

Exploration in the area began in 1816 when English botanist Allan Cunningham arrived in the land after collecting botanical specimens in Brazil. Prior to that, it was the indigenous Australian people of Giabal and Jarowair who inhabited the area.

Thirteen years later, Scottish settlers George and Patrick Leslie established the Toolburra Station, 90 kilometres south-west of Toowoomba, which opened the region to its first settlers.

The city’s early settlers, like Thomas Alford, began to establish a township of bark-slab shops that was known as “The Springs”, which then was renamed as Drayton. By the late 1840s, Drayton already had its newspaper, trading post, general store and the Royal Bull’s Head Inn, which still stands today. From then, Toowoomba continued to grow and was proclaimed as a township in 1892.
