Revesby is a peaceful suburb located around 22 km on the south-western side of Sydney Central business district. Revesby has developed as part of Sydney’s post-war urban sprawl, filled mostly with modest, freestanding bungalows built from asbestos cement sheeting. As per the 2016 census, the population of the suburb was 14,176. The neighbouring suburbs are Picnic Point, Padstow Heights, Bankstown, Milperra, Condell Park, and Panania, to name a few.
History of Revesby
Revesby got its name in 1913. It was named in the honour of Sir Joseph Banks who had sailed along with Captain James Cook when they came to the eastern coast of Australia. The early landowners of Revesby did not stay in the region. ‘The Pah’ was the only mansion that was built here. In 1896, the first school was opened in the area, which is known as Revesby Public School. The first railway station opened in 1931. In 1955, the local post office opened.

There is an impressive Arts and Craft Fair that is held each month at Abel Reserve.
