Find us online

Physio Point Cook is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist Point Cook and interestingly, Physiotherapy Point Cook. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include Point Cook Physio, Point Cook Physiotherapist and or Point Cook Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. We have found that depending on the demographics the use of the word 'in' features quite heavily, and so we'll often see Physio in Point Cook, Physiotherapist in Point Cook and Physiotherapy in Point Cook as common phrases. In the end, we do our best to be as visible and accessible for our patients in and around our local area as possible.

History of Point Cook

Spelt initially as Point Cooke, this suburb was named after John M. Cooke, a mate of His Majesty’s vessel “Rattlesnake”.

Horse-breeder and pioneer grazer Thomas Chirnside added the farmlands of Point Cook to his holdings in 1853. Four years later, he established the famous Point Cook Homestead that had 25 rooms.

As Thomas and his brother, Andrew, were hunting enthusiasts, deer and foxes were introduced in the suburb following their takeover of the land. In the late 1850s, Point Cook became a famous area to visit for hunting clubs from Melbourne and Geelong. By the early 1860s, valuable horses were imported to Point Cook to breed. At that time, the suburb already had three racetracks. The brothers also completed the construction of the Werribee Park Mansion in 1877.

Point Cook is also known as the home of the Royal Australian Airforce (RAAF) as the Federal Government purchased a vast segment of the suburb in 1912 to establish the Australian Flying Corps (which was renamed to RAAF).

In 1920, the Chirnside family sold what’s left of their estate to Capt. Sydney Dalrymple. Dalrymple then sold the northern part of Point Cook to Cheetham Salt Pty Ltd.

Since the early 2000s, Point Cook’s residents exponentially grew with young families mostly making up the population.
