History of Mornington

Mornington was originally occupied by Boonwurrong people. In the 1840s the Europeans came to this region and began agriculture, logging and fishing. In 1889, the Mornington Railways Line opened, and the suburb got well connected to Melbourne. However, it was closed in 1981.
