Forest Hill is a quiet suburb located in Melbourne. It is situated around 18km on the eastern side of Melbourne. The City of Whitehorse is the local government area. As per the 2016 census, the population of Forest Hill was 10,626. The suburb is one of the most liveable suburbs, which is made up of medium density residential housing. Its surrounding suburbs are Vermont, Mitcham, Blackburn, Burwood East, Nunawading and Vermont South.
History of Forest Hill
It was on 1st March 1874, when the first Forest Hill Post Office opened. This was in a rural area. However, the post office was closed in 1895, and it reopened again in 1902. It closed down again in 1976. The Forest Hills Centre officially opened in 1965 just after this centre opened. In 1985, it was renamed as Forest Hill. It wasn't until 1994 that Forest Hill became a part of the City of Nunawading local government area.

The significant facilities in Forest Hill are situated in Hawthorn Road Forest hill. This is a famous place where Neighbours, the leading soap opera, was produced. There is one school located within this suburb – Parkmore Primary School. There are many other private schools situated in the surrounding suburbs that are a short distance from one another. These include Forest Hill Secondary College, Burwood Heights Primary School and St. Timothy's Catholic Primary School. There are several local sports facilities in the region, with an Australian Rules Football team in the area.

These include Hoyts Cinemas, JB Hi-Fi, Harris Scarfe, Target, Coles and Rebel Sport. Forest Hill is also known as the shopper's paradise with the Zone Bowling centre and Timezone.
