Find us online

Physio Docklands is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist Docklands and interestingly, Physiotherapy Docklands. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include Docklands Physio, Docklands Physiotherapist and or Docklands Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. We have found that depending on the demographics the use of the word 'in' features quite heavily, and so we'll often see Physio in Docklands, Physiotherapist in Docklands and Physiotherapy in Docklands as common phrases. In the end, we do our best to be as visible and accessible for our patients in and around our local area as possible.

Docklands profile

Docklands is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria and is 2 kilometres west of the city’s CBD. It is in the local government area of the City of Melbourne and has a population of 10,964 based on the 2016 census.

History of Docklands

Before its development, the site of the modern-day Docksland was swampland and was a bustling dock area of the Port of Melbourne in the 1880s

In the 1990s, Docklands became virtually abandoned due to the containerisation of shipping traffic and eventually became the centre of Melbourne’s underground rave scene.

When the Docklands Stadium was constructed in the late 1990s, developers began to take an interest in the area with urban renewal taking shape in the year 2000. It is, in fact, one of the country’s largest urban renewal projects. The suburb then experienced an apartment boom and became a sought-after business address. National headquarters of major organisations like the National Australia Bank, ANZ and Medibank, among others, was established in the suburb.

The project is expected to fully complete in 2025 with some precincts in Docklands currently undergoing re-master planning.
