The inner northern suburb of Bowden is located in Adelaide, the capital city of South Australia within the local government area of the City of Charles Sturt. History of Bowden
The area, which was previously a village, was established by James Hurtle Fisher in 1839. Fisher named the suburb after his own native town in Northamptonshire. There was a post office in Bowden, which operated from 1970 until 1991. Besides, some of the local streets of the suburb were established in the 19th century.
