Being a professional tennis player I understood the importance of physiotherapy in body management and acute pain. My passion for anatomy and biomechanics in sport pushed me to become the physiotherapist I am today.
Helping people achieve their goals of pain relief or fitness. Working within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible results for clients. I like being challenged and having the unknown of what may come into the clinic.
Our mission is to not only treat your symptoms, but to also empower you with the skills to manage your body to prevent and reduce the risk of pain returning. Years of experience in working with elite sport at an international level and working with many health professionals around the world.
I enjoy spending time with family including 2 young children. Travelling predominantly to skiing destinations. I enjoy playing tennis, snowboarding and keeping fit and healthy. I also enjoy watching movies and eating out.
Our clinics are very community focused and inside community based gyms in Bardon and Toowong. We support local sporting clubs and schools to help the development of kids in the area.
Long story short, it was my knee injuries. When I was around 16 years old, I injured my knee and had surgery. To help stay involved in the team for the rest of the season, I picked up a roll of strapping tape and learnt how to strap ankles. Helping my team before their games and then seeing how the physiotherapist was helping me with my rehab it put me down my path to physiotherapy.
I love being able to help people. The bit I enjoy most is once we have managed to settle pain or rehab an injury, we enter the phase where we can increase performance. In sport, that may be to progress into a power program to build speed and jump height. It may also be a lower back strengthening program to allow you to work in the garden for a few hours without having to worry if that will cause their lower back to tighten up.
I take a very keen focus on what people can do, even when they are injured. After surgery or acute injury there does need to be a clear focus on what not to do - to help tissue heal or to settle pain - but what can get lost in all that is what people CAN do. Having gone through 2 ACL and 2 Meniscal repair surgeries myself, I understand the frustration that kicks in post-surgery/injury when all of a sudden you aren't able to play your sport, get in the garden or play with the kids.
It is imperative to stay positive and focus on things you can do, be it cross-training to avoid loading the injury altogether or training around pain with specific planned rehab exercises. With my experience in physiotherapy and strength & conditioning, I can help you along the entire rehabilitation pathway - acute injury through to return to sport and performance training.
I enjoy playing golf; whether it's at the range or playing 18 holes, it is a change of pace from the day-to-day in-clinic schedule. Recently I have been taking my 4-year-old nephew along to the range, its been fun watching him take up golf learning how to swing and then seeing the pure joy when he connects and sends one flying.
I like the proximity to the city without necessarily feeling like it is on your doorstep. The number of cafe's in Bardon will also help feed my coffee addiction.

Searching; physio near me, physio Bardon or physiotherapy in Bardon?
Our team of physio's service patients from all over Brisbane, though most come from nearby suburbs such as Ashgrove, Auchenflower and Paddington.
Whether you need help with an existing injury, rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy or joint manipulations, we consider ourselves the best physios and physiotherapy clinic in Bardon.
Physio Bardon is (from our research) one of the most common searches our patient's use to find us, followed by Physiotherapist Bardon and interestingly, Physiotherapy Bardon. Patients often search us by suburb first, however, and as a result, some other typical searches include Bardon Physio, Bardon Physiotherapist and or Bardon Physiotherapy. Though not a direct variation to the two above, a broader approach is often taken with a search like; physio near me, or if a practice is more intended then physiotherapy near me is quite often the search. We have found that depending on the demographics the use of the word 'in' features quite heavily, and so we'll often see Physio in Bardon, Physiotherapist in Bardon and Physiotherapy in Bardon as common phrases. In the end, we do our best to be as visible and accessible for our patients in and around our local area as possible.
