History of Albany Creek

In the past, Albany Creek was known as “Chinaman’s Creek” up until 1888. It is positioned on the junction of two local tracks that pass by the routes in the north of Brisbane, known as “Old Northern Road” to the Little Cabbage Tree Creek in Aspley. As the little town developed, a school was formed and opened on January 26, 1875, which was named as “Chinaman’s Creek State School”. However, it was later changed into Chinaman’s Creek Provisional School in 1883.

Albany Creek developed into a suburban area in 1960. To meet the demands of the increasing population, more schools opened in the area. And the first school in the region was reestablished as the “Albany Creek State School”.
